Long time ago, this was a peaceful world where the sun always shined and the world tree provided abundance to the people below, but one day the tree started to wither and the strange things started to occur across the village. Could a party of heroes and heroines come to discover the root cause of this sudden trouble? Storeverse is a metaverse for playing LARP-based stories. It is a world where players can interact with one another as a roleplaying avatar. Players can form parties to tread into the mysteries of this world in an attempt to prevent a catastrophe and return life back to the all giving life tree of the world. Each story of this world is different and require different roles (e.g. archaeologist, botanist, detective and doctor). Each role will also have different ability. For example, archaeologist can decipher cryptic language. Another key design element is that the player can use a story branch to discover the root cause of an event or storyline. If they went to a wrong turn, they can reverse in time to go back to a root cause to further the story at a different point in time. Now go! Bring life back the life tree one step at a time by solving the many mysteries of Storeverse!

Our project is an innovative leap into the realm of metaverse gaming, an immersive party game designed and developed utilizing the advanced capabilities of Unity. This robust platform empowers us to craft dynamic and engaging virtual worlds, rich with interactive gameplay mechanics unique to our party game. Unity’s extensive toolkit, including its sophisticated scripting capabilities and a vast asset library, allows us to bring a captivating and expansive metaverse to life with impeccable detail and creativity.

Our metaverse party game is experienced through leading-edge VR head-mounted displays (HMDs) like Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. These HMDs facilitate unparalleled immersion within the metaverse, offering precise head-tracking technology, near-instantaneous rendering, and vibrant high-resolution displays. Additionally, the ergonomic designs of these HMDs ensure comfort and accessibility for our players, enabling them to enjoy extended sessions within our vibrant metaverse party environment.

In our pursuit to redefine virtual reality gaming, we are harnessing the power of Unity and the immersion potential of contemporary VR HMDs. Together, they form the backbone of our project, facilitating a thrilling and unforgettable party game experience within the limitless potential of the metaverse.
